Concordia Part 2

Day 2, or Tuesday, was rather uneventful at first. We prepared. I went over LD with Jonah. We went out to lunch with some friends from the area. Our Grandparents were around so they went to the first 2 days of the tournament. Before we knew it it was time to head over to the University, which was only a couple blocks down. Despite that fact we still made every wrong turn possible. The first LD round was to be at around 7 or 8, I think. So it was already getting dark. After meeting everyone from last year, standing around some, and standing around some more, postings went up. Jonah was hitting Te G, from Scarlet, and I was hitting Scarlet WK. ( I don't know if they'd appreciate me posting their full names.... I don't know...) Jonah walked up to me- "Hey, we're both committing debater's suicide first round!" While those of you reading may not know these people, Jonah spoke the truth. Will debated Holly in quarters at Point loma, and won this tournament. Teddy won first speaker. So we were both in for quite a round.
If we got to the round, that is. Jonah found his room, but will and I ran into each other searching for ours. We ran all over the campus looking for the nonexistent room, which turned out to be so. The judge's number was mixed up with the room number. We found the right room, in which a policy round was still occurring. So someone came up to us and said it'd be fine if we used an empty room.

Needless to say the round didn't go well. Worse still I realized after checking and rechecking Jonah's stuff, I had 2 neg cases- one of which was an old, unedited version, the other of which I didn't bring support for.....I tried to mesh them, but spent so much time thinking of that that I didn't think of anything for cross ex.... The round went downhill from there. It got interesting before the end, but the winner was clear. I heard someone else from scarlet say Will thought he lost, but he was probably the only one who thought so...

We ate crab cooker that night- and if you haven't eaten it you need to. It is the best clam chowder ever made.

Sleep awaited.

But of course I wouldn't end a post on a cheesy line like that. The fact is sleep had to awake. I had spent so much time finalizing Jonah's brief case, that he had the correct versions of my cases. I thanked him for bringing the laptop and started typing it all up. I then finished another aff. case I was working on....extremely impromptu, but I wanted to get the most out of the tournament, and I wouldn't have another chance to run it. I had no idea how to print it, but that would wait. Once it is 1:30 am, a lot of things can wait.

Now sleep awaited.
